stevens 520/western field 30 questions? SD

hello-have a stevens/westernfield barrel from either a 520 or 620 with a solid rib. question is,how is this rib atached? will it come off if it is blued? i am wanting to blue this barrel and am courious how these old ribs were installed,thanks

  I just finished cold bluing a Western Field Deluxe, a 620, with raised solid rib. I had no problem with it and am very pleased with how it turned out. I know that my gunsmith has hot blued more than one 620 and he didn't have any problems

  the rib is soldered on with 'soft' solder, some 'hot' blueing will desolve soft solder.
