winchester model 12 ?

First of all, as I read these pages I am consantly impressed by the knowlege represented here. Outstanding job to you all.
I have read with great interest the Model 12 questions posted.
I have a Model 12, SN 3334XX, 12 GA. Full, 30 inch plain round barrel with brass bead front sight. The reciever has almost all the original bluing worn off. The barrel retains bluing, but thin. It has no checkering on the butt stock, but is a nice piece of walnut with some minor scratches, and original Winchester black plastic buttplate. I belive this would be a common "fieldgrade" shotgun in original used condition.
Can you tell me what year this shotgut was made?

    are all model 12 2.75 or 3 inch chambers or are some 2 9/16?

    Until 1926, the 16 ga was 2 9/16" and the 20 ga 2 1/2".

    Yes. There were no other model 12 chamberings for the 12 ga other than 2 3/4 or 3".

    guy swares his is 2 9/16 chamber. ser # dates it at 1925.could it be misprint on barrel.i will try to get a pic.

    Well, it's not that I have never been wrong, but 2 9/16" in a 12 gauge Model 12 would be new to me and I find no reference to that possibility in my model 12 books. Are you sure its not a 16 GA gun?
