Non FFL shipping Shotgun out of Mass?
Hi I sold a shotgun on gunbroker. The winner says he is an FFL and emailed a copy of it to me.
Question :Can a MA resident ship a firearm out of state if he is not an FFL? Just wondering if there is any state specific issues I need to be aware of here. I understand according to fed law I can.
Also should I accept an emailed copy of an FFL? Do I need an original copy? Is Fax ok?
Thanks

If you are not an FFL you are not required to have a copy at all. Go to the ATF website and run the numbers thru EZCheck to verify it is valid.
As far as your state/local laws ????0 -
As long as you don't live in Worcester, & as long as you have a firearms identification card or a handgun carry permit, you can transfer a shotgun to a dealer in any state. You must report the transfer to the executive director of the criminal history systems board.
If you DO NOT have a firearms identification card or handgun carry permit, you have screwed the pooch. You cannot possess the shotgun, &, since you cannot possess it, you cannot transfer it.
