Mark Christian - your expertise please

Can you give recommendations for some books on the history of M1A. Am going to have down time in near future and looking to get in some reading. Did a little searching and found wide variety. Wanted an experts opinion on good reading.

  There is a pretty good book out there by Joe Poyer titled The m14-Type Rifle, A shooter's And Collector's Guide. It is available through North Cap Publications and at 80 pages it has a pretty good over view of the M14, various commercial copies and also a brief discussion of the Chinese rifles imported many years ago. There is some good information on the rifles along with some discussion of ammunition, optics and trouble shooting/repairs.
