Ruger (OLDER) 77 Stainless in .260 Rem.
I have noticed in the last six weeks "TWO" Model 77 Stainless 260's on GB sell in the $1200 range! These were the OLDER and original black synthetic stocks with 22" barrels. I could have purchased one of these at Gander Mtn. a year ago for $460 bucks! WHAT is going on with the value of this particular rifle??? THANKS!!!

It is pretty common knowledge that about the same Ruger switched from the skeleton style stock, they also made some changes in their casting and machining operations...for the worse. The older style 77MKII in 260 would be a rare bird, as a lot of manufacturers were and still are afraid of anything in 6.5MM in the United States. Therefore you do not see a lot of anything chambered in 260, although they are starting to pick up a little bit now. But if those rifles you seen for $1200.00, are NIB, then they will command a premium, possibly...but not that much of a premium.
