Silver Bear Ammo
Has anybody used any of the Silver Bear ammo? I was thinking about getting some in 7.62 x 54R to plink with. I have never shot any of it and was wondering if it was any good. I am thinking about getting some of the 203 grain.

Barnaul arsenal makes it
same as brown bear and similar to the cheap wolf steel case crap
don't expect to win a plinking match with it
don't get me wrong it goes BANG!0 -
Similar to wolf, but in my experience it is much cleaner. 0 -
I guess that I will get some and try it. If it don`t shoot that great I will not be out any great amount of money. I believe that it is cheaper than Wolf ammo. Heck, the old war bird (Finish M39) don`t care what gets run through it it still shoots good. 0 -
I sure like the Silver Bear in 9mm[^] 0 -
I'm using Silver Bear in 5.45x39. I can't see any diff between it and any of the other bears. Marginal accuracy but goes bang every time. I scored some RWS 5.45 and have a decent idea of potential accuracy from this rifle. The 3 bears ammo runs about 2x sized groups. Just FYI. Don't even bother trying the Wolf 70 grain ammo in a S&W MP15 5.45x39. 0 -
I've used it for my Nagant rifle. Works just fine.
Like was said above, it's not match grade or anything, but it works well. AIMsurplus.com usually has some good deals on surplus ammo for the 7.62x54R if you're looking for cheap ammo.0 -
I like it in 9x18mm 0 -
