With a barrel that long, I personally prefer a shoulder or cross the chest style holster. Just too long of a draw out of a holster on a belt and too awkward when riding or sitting, but then again, that is my preference and experience.

I am sure that would be more comfortable. But if I want to put on a jacket, It would conceal the gun. Im only 19 so I can't carry concealed. It would work in the summer though.

No offense, but the "dirty harry" 8 inch barrel is a bit unwieldy for day-to-day carry. There really isn't going to be any super comfortable way to carry something like that, and there are reasons why virtually nobody carries around a gun like that for anything but hunting.

For what its worth, with a barrel that long, you almost have to go with a weak side carry, otherwise the gun becomes extremely difficult to draw.

If you can't do a shoulder holster, thing about a cross-draw rig with the gun butt-forward on your left hip (if you are right handed).

I bought a new belt at Cabelas today. Real thick leather. It helps, but not enough. I guess I will fork out the cash for a new gun.
