Length sounds about right. How many rounds is your tube supposed to handle?
Bill,
I was wondering if someone might have put a plug in it to comply with some sort of local restrictions, but if you know the length of the spring, I'm assuming you'd have found any plug when you took out the spring. Marlin site shows 10 round capacity for full length tube.

I think that it is suppossed to handle 7 in the tube 0 -
Bill,
Someone should be along shortly who give you a real answer on the spring length. In the meantime you could always remove the spring and simply see how many will fit with no spring. Do you have a "half or full length" magazine??0 -
I have the generic Big 5 special and it holds 10. Looking at the Marlin website, they all show a capacity of 10 rounds for the 44 mag/44 special. 0
