Anyone have any Info/Knowledge on the Yugoslavia M-76 Sniper Rifle in
7.92/8MM.Assembled by Rapid Fire,Troy Oh.
Well made Rifle worth Purchasing ???
Or stay away ???

    These are recent imports that were built on US made receivers, with enough US made parts to make them legal. From what I can see everybody and his brother his got into this business over the last 10 years, i.e. building guns from parts kits.

    I wouldn't be buying one of these unless I could get a lot of trigger time in beforehand. Without shooting it a bunch you don't have any idea of the quality of the U.S. made receiver/barrel, parts also the workmanship used in putting them together.

    The design of the gun is sound. Its basically an elongated Kalashniknov built in 8mm. Its not super accurate, but certainly good enough for reaching out 200-300 yards.

    These guns are built onto new American-made receivers using foreign made parts kits taken from decommissioned guns.

    Build quality of these is variable, and is at least partly dependent on the quality of the parts used. If you get one with a good parts and a good build, it could be a good gun.

    While its pretty hard to screw up an AK-type build (eg third world peasants literally build them in huts with hand tools), its actually NOT impossible.

    ORF (Ohio Rapid Fire) unfortunately, has a checkered reputation when it comes to building receivers, and I've heard of problems with these and other guns built on their receivers.

    I'd put this into the category of "unknown". . .you might get a good one, you might not.

    I had one of these about 2 years ago. It was a decent shooter, the best I could get out of it was 3" at 100 yrs with surplus ammo. Had 5 mag's with it and 3 of the 5 would jam on a regular basis. Trigger is usual military about 6 lbs with the usual creep. I sold it after thinking it was very high dollar gun for what is was.
