Taurus 41AE
I just got around to going thru some storage boxes, ammo cans and other stuff from my shop that I had three years ago. In one of the ammo cans I had a bunch of magazines. One if the magazines was a factory Taurus marked 41AE. I was not aware of Taurus producing a pistol in this caliber. Does anyone have information on this firearm. I googled it and came up with the PT-91 and that is about it. Also will this magazine fit a 40 S&W PT-100 or 101? Thanks for any info that any of you guys can give me.

MIght be one of the EAA Witness magazine in 41 AE (made in the 1990's) very close looking to the Taurus.

PT-91 is like the PT-92, which it itself a clone of the Beretta 92.
If you had the gun to go with your mag, could probably convert the PT-91 into 9mm with just a different barrel, spring, and magazine. That was the whole point of 41AE.
The 41 AE magazine should fit into any Beretta 92 clone. I wouldnt be surprised if you could get away with using the 41AE mag as a 40SW mag (and vice versa).
For what its worth, Beretta itself did put out a Cougar pistol in 41AE. There were also the Israeli guns, both the Jericho 941 (aka Baby Eagle) designed to swap between 9mm luger and 41AE, and Uzi carbines were also dual chambered for 9mm/41AE.
None of these were around for too long. While the idea for the 41 was sound (and still makes sense today), the 40SW came out within just a few years. Once the 40SW was adopted by the FBI, lots of domestic police followed suit, ensuring popularity of the 40SW, and demise of the 41AE.
Edit: To be clear, EAA mags generally don't have the Taurus insignia on them. So far as I know the PT-91 was the only 41AE gun Taurus ever put out. (Taurus had a far less diverse lineup of auto pistols 20 years ago).
Yes, I'm saying the 41AE Taurus mag will probably fit into a Taurus PT100 pistol, AND it will probably run 40SW too since the cartridges are not that dissimilar dimensionally, and the guns are based on the same frame design. Obviously, I haven't tried it to know for sure!
Along these lines, I know as a fact that you can run 9mm through Beretta 40SW mags, and so it wouldn't surprise me if you could run 9mm, 40SW, and 41AE through the mag!0 -
years ago I had a .41ae conversion for my Beretta 92. Never heard of Taurus doing a 41ae, oh well. A TZ 41ae and 40s/w are really the same mag. different numbers. 9mm can also be used interchangeably. Just like Glocks, same mag different numbers. 0
