colt saa problem
Help! Have a saa from the 70's - only fired 1 box - cannot rotate cylinder on second click to eject casings - looks like nothing is causing the cylinder to bind - any ideas greatly appreciated..........

If I understand this correctly, you can get the hammer to the second click, correct? If so, place the hammer back onto the 2nd click. Then..
Open the loading gate, Push the little spring loaded transverse pin, then pull the basepin (may need padded pliars), and after the basepin is out, gently push the cylinder out of the frame from left to right.
Determine the binding problem.
Re-install cylinder.
Question: What caliber is stamped onto the left side of the barrel? Did you determine that a bullet is not lodged into the space between the cylinder and barrel? If you determine that a bullet is in fact stuck there, discard the remainder of your unfired bullets, and buy a new box of factory loaded ammo. Best, Joe0 -
Don't understand the question.
Is the the gun binding and preventing cylinder rotation to the loading notch or is the cylinder not staying in the loading position?

all looks normal - with cylinder out the lever that rotates the cylider appears to function normally with a slight springload. Took
grips off - all looks normal. Nothing seems stuck - cylinder stop in frame above trigger functions properly.............0 -
Possibly the bolt is not retracted enuf on the second click. Try by hand gently to turn cylinder as you pull back the hammer. If it frees to rotate after pulling it back beyond the second click, you have an internal problem. Could be the end of the trigger broke off where it engages hammer notches, problem with the bolt or with the hammer itself. I would take it apart and find out or have someone else competent to do it. 0
