Date of S&W.

Is there a reference where I can find the date of my S&W 41 pistol? I hate paying S&W $50 for the info.

  You might have to. All the S & W semi-autos including the Model 41 were numbered in the same S.N. range prior to 1970. Even after that there is no specific DOM's for S.N. given for Model 41's, in the S & W book.

  Call S&W and they will tell you when it shipped from the factory.

  Maybe if you posted photos, gave a detailed description, gave the barrel length, & gave the serial number & revision number, someone on this forum might be able to help you get close.

  You can get the DOB from S&W customer service for free over the phone.
  Or, you could post the serial number here and I'll look it up in the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson.
