Serial number location?

    If it was made prior to 1968, it may well NOT have a SN at all.

    I don't know whether your gun has a serial number, but a lot of break-open shotguns have the serial number on the water table. You have to remove the barrels from the frame to see it.

    Again, the gun may not have a serial number but if it is not on the outside of the frame/receiver, look for it on the breech face , inside of the frame wall or on the bottom of the barrel lug.

    Until the 1968 Gun Control Act, serial numbers were not required by law on shotguns and rifles. I collect older Mossberg 22s and shotguns. Out of a dozen, only the 22s made for the US govt wear a serial number. My Remington 550s and 550-1s have no serial number. They go in my bound volume as NSN- No Serial Number.
