Colt 1911 Commemorative
I have an opportunity to purchase 2 Colt 1911's . 1 is End Pacific Theater and 1 European Theater Commemoratives . New in cases matching S/N with silver bullets.

Those are two of the most common Colt commemoratives; Colt made around 12,000 of each back in 1970. The matching serial numbers are a nice little bonus but I think there are another four pistols that made up the series, which means you are missing four of them. I'd be thinking of a value of around $900 each. 0 -

These are the other ones I found from the set.
WWI and WWII 1911 .45 Auto caliber 6 gun commemorative pistol set by Colt. All matching numbers. 1967 WWI Chateau Thierry, 1968 WWI Belleau Wood, 1969 WWI 2nd Battle of the Marne, 1969 WWI Meuse-Argonne, 1970 WWII European Theater and 1970 WWII Pacific Theater.0 -
If you have the entire set and all the numbers match then the value of the set is greater than the sum total of each individual piece. I'd be thinking $5,000+ for the full set. 0 -
Im looking at a couple pistols as well, euro and pacific commemortive, strange you would think they would be worth more than that, after all they are colt 1911A1 they are the genuine article. This guy wants $1195 ea... do you expect these to go up anytime if ever? 0 -
$1195 sounds pretty high. I bought one of the 1911 Meuse Argonne versions last year (handled but not fired) for $800. Seems like they should be worth more but I think Mark Christian is about right with an estimate of $900 for one in the original package. Figure I'll get around to shooting mine one of these days as I don't expect value to increase much. A Series 70 in original condition is probably better from an investment perspective. 0 -

IMHO COMMEMORATIVES are the WORST firearm you can buy .If you fire one shot value may be cut by 50% . Buy a gold coin If all you want to do is look at an item not use it.The gold coin will go up in value. Guns that are sold as collector items seldom are and if you buy a 98-100 % standard colt pistol and keep it with box and all paperwork it will increase in value 10 times as much as a Commemorative. 0 -

I've got one of the Pacific Theaters, I think $900 would be the maximum. I got mine for around $800 a couple months ago. They sure are pretty to look at. 0 -
I paid a little over $600 for this Colt John Browning commemorative, as it didn't have the wood case. To me, that was a good price for a new Colt 1911 shooter, which I definitely will shoot.
