sxs shotgun
A friend bought this at a sale not knowing anything about guns and asked me if I could find out just what he had. I got as far as a SxS what I think is a 16ga. since those fit and double trigger. Since I don't have access to a camera I will describe the best I can for you experts.
Tang safety with (SICHER) above. Stock has cheekpiece, round knob and checkered at the wrist.
Forearm is wide, flat, beavertail type with 9618 inscribed
Barrels: 29 _" good blue, solid checkered rib with Robert Hubner Hofbuchsenmachermeister, Darmstadt in the center. Both barrels have what looks like Krupp Stahd in a circle and a funny symbol and the word Nitro on each. The underside of both barrels has what looks like Flussstahi-Krupp ESSF(or )PN the funny symbol over a crown over an S and in addition the left barrel has what looks like a double arrowhead with an 8 above.
Flats has the symbol over the crown over a U over 16 with a 16 in a circle alongside of the 16 and 9618 and a crown over a W.
A pin comes out the left side upon opening. Weight is 5 _#. All the screws are engraved and look untouched and floral engraving on the remaining metal parts.
Butt plate is hard Bakelite with engraved screws.
Has narrow leather sling attached to barrels and stock.
I may not have all the spelling correct as some of the letters are very faint but it's the best I could do.
If any of you experts have any idea as to who made, when made , shootability, and an approximate value it would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help

Your SxS is an English made gun, and of reasonable quality.
