    I have a wingmaster 12ga...with sscrew in type choke....can I shoot it with-OUT a choke installed ?

    On my Fausti, more lines means a more open choke - full has 1, cylinder has 5.

    Clays, thanks, you are correct.
    The information I had was a miss-quote from manufacture.
    Should have read, "as lines increase,- choke size increase.

    I do believe you answered your own question here, with your own investigation. I would measure the chokes to make sure they ascended or descended accordingly. The most open one I would scribe an "S" for skeet on, the next an IC, then an M, then IM(improved modified), then the tightest, F. Then you will not have to rely on your memory and lines.
