FFL buying guns in California
I have an FFL and go to California several times a year. Is it legal to purchase firearms from private parties to be taken back to AZ and sold? One step further, would it be OK to run an ad about buying firearms in local papers? thanks, Don

Yes and maybe. As an FFL dealer you can acquire firearms from unlicensed individuals in any state, that is one of the biggest perks of being a dealer. Before you start thinking of running ands in local newspapers you'd better check with the classified ads folks to see if they will even accept gun related ads because many papers will not. 0 -

If you can set the schedule you may want to time visits to coincide with a gun show. Given the paperwork and 10 day wait most folks must endure, you'll probably find a few opportunities as an FFL that can't be had to unlicensed individuals. Odd as it may sound, the one hurdle you might have to overcome at a CA gun show is that many folks will find it odd to do the "give me the gun & I'll give you $$$" cash & carry deal. And what they find odd they may tend to avoid.0
