Does a 32cal Lemon Squeezer and a 38cal take the same grips? Need some for a 38.

    The number inside the yoke is 6587. It has BNP stamped in 10 different places. Appears to be .44 caliber. It has a lanyard loop. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

    Thin description, close clear pictures would sure help.

    Most S&Ws have the serial number on the butt, the number inside the yoke is a factory assembly number with no significance after the gun goes out the door.

    BNP is Birmingham Nitro Proof, the gun was imported into Great Britain at some time.

    Appears to be a .44 caliber? Might it appear to be a .455 on second examination? S&W supplied a lot of triple locks and hand ejectors to the British Army in WW I.

    The "BNP" markings I'm familiar with are English Proof Marks. Most likely the S & W would be one of the early large "N" frame, Triple Lock?, hand ejectors, that the limeies bought in the early years of the First World War, circa 1914-1916. They were originally chambered for their .455 cartridge. Lot of them were reworked for either .45 LC or .45 ACP though.

    The above is purely supposition without quality photos there is no way to positively identify it.
