strip the shotgun to the receiver w/mag. tube, replace the mag. tude cap. place the receiver against something solid (wooden work bench top, ect.) 'wack' the magazine cap with a mallot (wood or plastic) driving the magazine tube back into the action. to reassembel you will need to reverse this prosses. I clamp the magazine tube (loosly) in the vise with the cap on (and butting agaist the vice jaws)and tap the receiver to the rear with a mallot.

    This thing sucks.

Trying to remove the tube from the receiver. No, of course it can't just be threaded in with acme threads like Remington and Mossberg and damn near everything else.

Oh, no...it's got straight knurling which secures it in the receiver, but it's screwed into a plastic two-piece "collar" inside the receiver.

No wonder this company is out of business.

Anyone got any hints on how to get the damn tube out without destroying the tube/receiver or both in the process? The two-piece plastic collar is toast already.

Winchester is NOT out of business. They simply closed the New Haven plant. http://www.winchesterguns.com/
