Lilja would be hard to beat.
I got this one before there were many others being made, and because it shoots really well with cheap Federal bulk HPs.

BTW, I've seen some pretty good performance out of the Ruger factory .920 barrels.

Lilja, Lothar-Walther, and Kidd are probably the best choices for accuracy.

Depends a bit on what sort of target shooting you're talking about.

If you are talking about serious high-level match competition, you'd want the best possible barrel. That would be what Mooseyard said (Lilja, Volquartson, Kidd), but you can expect to pay $350+ for one.

I suspect you aren't. . .because if you were involved in that sort of competition, you wouldn't have to come here and ask about barrels!

If you want something that is still excellent, though maybe not the absolute best available, check out the Green Mountain barrels. Those are available in a zillion different configurations (finish, length, fluting, etc), and will get you most of the way there for roughly $150.

I've never had a GM, but I hear they are great for the money.

I have a Shilen that I'd put right up there with all the others mentioned [;)]

Thanks I`ll check out some of these mentioned. I am not competitively shooting but would like a good barrel that will hold a group at a decent range. I have looked at some of these mentioned and like the Kidd and Green Mountain barrels.

Does anyone have a Kidd barrel and how does it shoot? I know that E.R. Shaw makes them also. I have had serveral barrels from them in other calibers and they worked fine.
