Browning model 1071
I just purchased this pistol. Does anyone have a manual for it. I cannot get very far in the field stripping process to inspect and clean it.

Illustrated disassembly procedures will be found in the NRA's Firearms Assembly book.
A special spanner type tool is required to remove the barrel bushing. This is the only way to get the barrel out to disassemble the pistol.0 -
they come apart like most browning pocket pistols. This was derived from the 1910/1922. pull back the slide about an inch and engage the safety in the notch. turn the BARREL to the left (i think) the only way it turns quite easily. Remove the safety (the barrel will snap back- don't be alarmed) then you can turn the barrel collar with your fingers and watch the mainspring pressure so it doesn't fly out- also watch the firing pin and spring so you don't lose it- it only fits one way because of the sear.- assembly is the reverse. there is a slot in the collar for a tool but it isn't tight enough to need one generally. 0
