Webley Mark IV, with "Safety" behind hammer
Ran into one of these today. Don't ever recall ever seeing one with a spring loaded manual cross bolt "safety", located behind hammer. The "safety" was square in profile, and would only engage when the hammer was all the way down. It seemed strange to me to have this sort of safety on a revolver. The previous Webley Mark IV's I've seen didn't have this type of manual cross bolt "safety".
The revolver was chambered for the .38 S & W cartridge, with a 5"barrel, and appeared to be factory original, very good condition. Because of the unusual safety, would it have any collectors value?
