Ruger .44 Carbine Hi-caps?

Does anyone make a magazine for the Ruger .44 Carbine that holds more than 4 rounds. I like wasting ammo on the range. Looking for a 25 rnd clip!!!

    Welcome to the forum...don't think anything greater than the factory magazine with 4 cartridges is available.

    I have not seen another mag for these guns.

    Since the .44 Mag uses a rimmed cartridge I find it very unlikely that you will ever see a 25 rd mag as it would be huge. I dont know why there is not a 10-15rd mag made for this gun, I think it would be a hit.

    Since they are mainly sold as a hunting gun many states have 5rd mag limits there must not be enough demand for an after company to want to make them.

    Thank you both for the reply. I guess I will use it as intended - for bagging game. I have enough other "play" guns that to keep me busy anyway. And God knows that .44 isn't the cheapest ammo to waste...

    The Ruger is a good gun--but if you need a "hi capacity" .44 rifle then I'd suggest a Marlin Cowboy rifle in .44 Mag which holds 10 rounds.

    I appreciate the advice. But I truly believe that the 10/22 is the best .22 ever made and having the same set-up in .44 can't be a bad rifle. I'll keep the one I have. I appreciate the advice though.

    The Ruger .44 that takes mags has nothing in common with the 10/22 so I am not sure what you point is on that one. The current 44 that takes mags is built similar to the Mini-14.

    Ruger use to make a 44 rifle that looked similar to the 10/22, but again very different system.

    Quite right about the looks, but not the operation. I have one of them in the rare fingergroove variant and love it. I don't like the feel of the new ones at all, they really do feel like a mini-30/mini-14.

    Have you ever compared one of those mags to see if they are even close to fitting in the rifle? I am sure they are not a direct drop-in, but maybe something could be modified to fit if you want it bad enough.

    If you are wanting a high-power big caliber mag-fed rifle, maybe consider an AR-15 with a .50 Beowolf conversion - just a thought...

    I think the similarity between the 10/22 and the Ruger 44 semi is that each uses a spool type magazine. The 22 is a rimmed cartridge and the 44 is a rimmed cartridge, ProMag makes a drum type magazine for the 10/22 that works "only OK" and is a pain to load (I have one) so I suppose it could in theory be done with the 44 - but would probably be expensive as heck and again, with just OK function not be much of a seller. Just my guess from having/using the parts & guns mentioned.
