Aerosol Lithium Grease, Any Shooting Applications

Just bought a can of this stuff for a washing machine repair I was doing, and got to wondering if anyone had any firearms related uses for it. I can think of lots of ways I wouldn't use it (triggers being one example) but does anyone keep this stuff in their shop for some use or another?
Any ideas appreciated, though I'm not in a big hurry or great need, so don't put down your coffee or let your toast get cold responding.

p.s. That sounds about right, Mark. Maybe a cosmoline substitute for long term storage?

    It will work to lubricate the operating rod spring on an M1 Garand, of course a full can will be enough to lube an entire brigade of M1 operating rod springs and still handle lubing 100 washing machines. I would not use the aerosol anywhere else on a M1 because it is too easy to spray on too much and then you have a big mess to clean up.

    Buffer spring on an AR-15. Keep them quiet.

    In my opinion; and I have plenty of them (not all of them matching the expectations of GB management who wanted to sack me) this type of grease is a poor choice for any type of long term storage. It is too thin and will turn runny as the temperature climbs leading to a huge mess with anything it comes in contact with. It will also attract dust and dirt like a magnet. This sort of grease is strictly for lubrication and not for preservation. If you want to use a grease for long term storage then good old RIG is still the best bet. You can put that stuff on today and it will still be there when your grand kids inherit the rifle thirty years from now.

    I have heard it works well as the silencing media in larger caliber suppressors.

    I only use it on truck door hinges and garage door opener chains. My 2 cans have lasted 13 years and only half gone. Oh yes, it's great on chainsaws.
