sig 22lr camo

Hey, I have never owned a handgun before and I was wondering if anyone knew about the Sig 22 LR(?). I am not gonna lie, I am drawn to it because of the winter camo. I know that the camo is meaningless but I like it. My questions are...
Is this a good gun?
How much would you be willing to pay?
What are some possible alternatives?
Should I be looking for a 9 mm or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,thanks!

    If it's the model called the "Sig Mosquito", their are a lot of better quality U.S. made .22's out there, i.e. Ruger, Browning, S & W etc.

    The Mosquito isn't even made by Sig, it's made by a outfit in Germany called German Sport Guns. Many of the parts are Zinc, (potmetal) die castings.

    GOOOLE, "SIG Mosquito" lots of information comes up, quite a bit negative.

    If you mean the SIG "mosquito", its a gun designed to LOOK like the famous SIG 226 combat pistol. But the gun is made of zinc-alloy (not all steel), and it is otherwise not particularly distinguished in terms of accuracy, trigger quality, or reliability.

    If you like the look, you like the look, but I agree with Rufe that there are better .22LR automatics out there. Take a look at the Ruger line, or even the Smith 22A.

    Budget is a factor. . .how much to you want to spend? Also, what exactly do you intend to do with this gun?

    Should be looking for a 9mm?

    Well, if you want to use it to defend yourself against humans, YEAH. . . .22LR is a fairly weak round. Its GREAT for target shooting, practice, recreational shooting, and hunting small animals. But against people. . .its much weaker than ideal.
