RVN Vets Roll Call
This is a thread I saw on another site and it was great.
Simply state when and where you were assigned and your MOS(s).
It makes it easy to see who is full of BS.
It would be nice to see if we can see where our paths may have crossed. On the other site I found two others who were at the same place at the same time![8D]
I will start.
November 1967, entered the Army (WOFT) basic at Ft Polk, C-2-2, but due to astigmatism in my right eye I was not allowed to complete Flight Training (The single biggest disappointment in my life[:(])
1968-1969, 87th Engr Co (CBT), 199th Light Infantry Brigade 12B40 (Demolition Spec) (Near Bien Hoa and then Black Horse)
Break in service.
1971, 282nd Assault Helicopter Co (Black Cats), 212th Combat Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Brigade (Marble Mountain, Da Nang)67N2F
Transferred to the 71st Assault Helicopter Co (Rattlers), 23rd Infantry Div (Americal) (Chu Lai) 67N2F (Huey Crew chief)
I sent my last three months in country with the 565th Maintenance Co when the 71st stood down.
I spent the last two years active at Ft. Carson.
I jointed the Army NG in 1980, B Co, 5th Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (A521, 12B4S) in Pueblo, Co. I left the NG in 1988
Have we crossed paths???[;)]

Summary: The war or conflict as the politicians called it wasn't worth it and I doubt if we have the Vietnam debt paid off yet. I'm a member of Agent Orange Health Cl;ub!0 -

Bounced around a lot. Camp Pendleton, Millington, Tenn., shipped to El Toro with two hundred other guys because schools at Millington were full, back to Millington for training in hydraulics. From there had choice of orders so went back to Pendleton to the OV-10A squadron for training. After training there was transferred to New River,N.C. Spent a couple of months there before getting orders to RVN. Back to Pendleton before being shipped out to Da Nang where I was assigned to HML-167 at Marble Mountain in Jan. 1969. Left there on Christmas Day to head back to the states where I was stationed at Yuma, Arizona for my last 18 months. I was assigned to VMAT 102 there. Sorry, I can't remember all the dates.
