Marlin 99 m1 22 rifle stock question
I have a Marlin 99 m1 that has a broken stock. Will other stocks fit this gun? It is the tube fed model. Other than the stock and stock screw, it appears to be complete. Is it worth getting a stock for or should i just sell it as is?

The Marlin M99 M1 is a desirable piece, sells for a premium over Marlins other model 99's. Now, the bad news is that I don't think the Marlin M99 stock will fit the M99 M1, I believe the tube will be too short and the forestock too long. The M1 was an 18 inch barrel with a 9 shot magazine, the regular Model 99, 99C and 99 DL were 18 shot magazines and 22 inch barrel. I think the stock from a M99 will extend past the magazine tube on a M99 M1.
However, they made the M1 for 12 or 13 years, there are some out there. I saw a stock on GunBroker about 5 months ago but don't remember how much they wanted for it. They are available and if the gun is in good condition, then it's worth restocking,
It's not like they kick all that hard, why not repair the broken stock ?
