Marlin 39 dovetail base
My newer Marlin 39a receiver is scope-able ( I wouldn't drill my old one that has a solid top). I have a nice scope but I have not been able to find a base that is the 3/8" dovetail.
It isn't just that my rings are for the "22 style" base. I have a weaver base, and could just change the rings, but the weaver base just looks crappy....being that it is a good bit wider than the receiver top.
Does anyone know of a source for one ? I've scoured every major net site + some. I would be happy to just find some dovetail 'stock' and use my weaver base as a guide to drill the 3/8 dovetail stock. Otherwise, I'm headed to my gunsmith.
Thanks

I know Brownells sells 3/8" solid stock - I believe it's flat bottomed and about 12" long, costs maybe $10.00 max. You'd need a gunsmith to D & T it. I bought some long ago for a project, scrapped the project & no idea where the part is.
I also found this - 3/8" "bases" for airguns:

I didn't go through it to deep, but you may be able to find what you want there or exploring the airgun stuff.0 -
Email me if interested in pursuing the 3/8" solid stock option. 0
