colt 1917 revolver lanyard install
Can anyone tell how the lanyard swivel and stud attaches to a colt 1917 "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" revolver. This gun was my grandmother's brother in the first war and was given to me. It doesn't have this part and I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I buy this part. There does not appear to be any threading in the grip hole so I assume they do not screw in. It would seem that they are installed by remmoving the grips and fastening them after installation that way with some kind of clip?

Thanks, have any idea where I can buy a pin? or do I just need to use a cottar pin or make something? 0 -
By the way, that doesn't look anything like my colt. My gun is a little smaller...Seriously Thanks for the reply! 0 -
Here's a schematic, #65 is the pin but is marked sold out. Just cut off a nail of right diameter.
