Lithgow is Australia, Long Branch is Canada, Ishapore is India. This is a link to a good article on Wikipedia on the Enfield, its various models, and where made. FWIW, while I can understand your search, you may be limiting yourself- I just added a 1942 No.4 Mk1* to my collection last Friday- from Long Branch, Canada, and it is in the best condition of of any of my .303s. Beware counterfeit Jungle carbines, and rifles with excessive headspace. The design of the bolt assures that over extended time, headspace will increase, and eventually you will run out of adjustment room- and have a rifle sutable only for a re-enactor. Also good basic info at surplusrifle.com. Be advised there was a model overlap during WWII (for the Brits, started in 1939)

I've got a brand-new in the grease and wrapped with paper one from 1955(F) that I can't get rid of. Even has the original bayo and scabbard, still in the wrapper.
