? for Mark Christian re: SW MK 760

Have an opportunity to pick up the S&W MK 760 with threaded bbl and a silencer.

Are the guns any good?

    Obviously Mark would know far more about this then I would. If your referring to the Model 76 sub gun? It had a poor reputation back in the day. S & W set out to make a U.S. made knock-off of the Swede, Carl Gustaf submachine gun. They screwed it up like the screwed up their knock-off of the Glock in the 90's.

    The S&W 76 SMG is a decent subgun, but nothing special. There are a number of knock offs using the designation 760, including some semi autos, and I am really not up to speed on those guns.

    Make sure it works, unless you just want it as a wall hanger. You're dealing with something that is essentially a knock-off of a knock-off. Unless you start busting caps, for all you know all your buying is a over priced paperweight.
