You have the Model A - swinging barrel link, correct?

Regarding the ambi safety I would not assume the disconnector pin means a professional job - they're available from Brownells, pretty standard stuff. I used a 1911 ambi on mine, was a bit more difficult to fit than on a "real" 1911, works fine just the same.

That scored pin is used instead of relieving the underside of the right grip panel. The hammer pin should have been switched out to a flat one also, hard to tell from the photo but if the right side safety is sitting flush with the frame that's probably been done. Check out "Mueshke" in the Brownells catalog, will show you the parts. If factory done I'd also think the parts would be stainless, that's just a guess.

Don't know about the porting - now that looks professionally done. Probably will produce quite a light show. [:)]

Coonan is supposedly going back into business - maybe they can help? Don't forget to bring your credit card when you go hunting for magazines.

Thanks for the reply, Yes, it does have the swinging barrel link.

The gun has never been fired (except by factory) and I probably will keep it in that condition. It did come with two mags which I have found are very pricey.

From the cuts, I would say it looks like it was done by Magna-Port

If you want to get back closer to original - if the ambi safety is indeed an add on - fitting a single sided stainless 1911 safety should be pretty straightforward.

Considering mag cost for thses things is about $150.00 each and you got one more than the one only that usually shows with these I'd say you did very well.

Holes in barrel and slide look like Mag-Na-Port "Autoporting."
