It's easier if you do it this way: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=162733308
It looks totally refinished to me. Those colors don't look right but that's just my opinion.0 -
I agree with Spider 0 -
Ditto that... 0 -
Larry Shennum has a couple in his collection that Bert H. was showing me. Bert was strangely quiet when I remarked how the Marlin color case put Winchester's to shame.[:)]
The colors look right to me, compared to what Larry had.
Maybe Bert will chime in, or better yet have Larry take a look, I think he's a member on here.0 -

The case colors on that rifle do not look original to me. Additionally, it is a Model 36 2nd variation made in 1941. 0 -
I'm with Spider & Bert, I'd bet a bottle of the good stuff that it's redone.
For what it's worth.

Bert, is Larry a member here?
This shot looks identical to one of those Marlins I'm always drooling on.

I dont know how you can tell anything from those photos, they are terrible. Using a flash makes them even worse...[xx(] 0 -

Dave... you need new glasses my friend. The pictures are not good, and the colors are too artificial looking. I will see what I can do to get some pictures of Larry's Marlin Model 1893s at the Reno show in a few weeks.0
