Winchester model 94 value, serial # not listed

I've got a nice Winchester 94 - serial number 2596000. I've done research and know that numbers 2586001-2699999 were not used. My questions is what would this gun be worth in the condition it is in, which based on a local gunsmith was at 85%. He did not know anything about the serial numbers not being used and how this would affect the value. If anyone has any knowledge on this issue please let me know. Thanks in advance, RWJR

    I have a Winchester 94 with the serial number 2596000. I've researched and seen where numbers 2586001-2699999 were not recorded or used. Mine is in about 85% and I was wondering what the value might be on such an item with this serial number issue. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.... RWJR

    Your gun was made in 1964. The post 64's started with ser# 2700000.
    The actual value would have to be based on condition. Pics would help

    Not true... it was actually made in 1963, and the year 1964 started with serial number 2,700,000.
