Lew Horton M624 - 44Spec.

Looking for expertise in placing a value on a Lew Horton 44 Special Model 624 - 4' barrel - nickel plated - low serial number, in mint condition. Although there has been some added features, a basic value will suffice.

  Look at auction #162835099. I think the guy is high as he has had it for sale since 01-02-2010
  Also auction #161451846 is more to the right price.
  Do a search for Lew Horton on the auction side [;)]

  I am unable to identify your gun from the information given. You will need to post photos. Be sure that we can see the serial number, numbers on the side of the frame (covered when the cylinder is closed), & box label.

  EDIT: Good job! Your first posting & you're already figured out how to give us photos, not an easy thing to do. Now, as for your gun: I don't think it's a Lew Horton, I think it's a Special Order. The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (by Supica & Nahas) lists most Lew Horton's, but yours doesn't match any they list. Plus, your product code is not listed for any M624, which is consistent with a special order. Based on the serial number (NOT an early SN), your gun was likely made in 1985; Lew Horton 624-(no dash) pistols were all made in 1988. The S on the box end label indicates "stainless", not nickel; my guess is that it is highly polished stainless steel, not plated (could be the special order part). It's difficult to figure the value of an altered, special order gun, but my SWAG would be $500-600.

  This may be an exception, but the Lew Horton's I've seen have special serial numbers to identify them them as such.
  
  Edit: Correction, I did find a 67 that didn't so I guess it doesn't necessarily apply.

  For what is worth those are not the original Lew Horton grips, they appear to be rosewood Hogue monogrips...that will hurt the value...the revolver on the top has the Hogue monogrips, the one on the bottom is a Lew Horton with Lew Horton grips
