Marlin 22

Hello again guys,

The last help I got about the Winchester 270 was wonderful to say the least, thanks again.

So about Marlin selling out to Remington, I have a Marlin 22 that I bought new in 92, it is a specail edition with a gold coin stamped into the stock. I have only shot this gun 40 times or less. Should I hold off and not shoot it to hold the value? What is everyones take on the matter? Thanks

    What model Marlin?

    If it is a 60, Marlin made about a jillion "special editions" with some sort of medallion embedded in the stock. They aren't particularly valuable. Shoot it.

    And if it's a M.39, it should rise in value, but shoot it anyway. It's a great gun and will never be "unfired" again.
    The likely difference, down the road, between "only fired about 40 times" and "fired a bunch and lovingly cared for" won't be enough to deny yourself the pleasure for.
    60 or 39, or something in between, it was made to shoot. Shoot and enjoy.
