Model 37 Winchester ---Redletter
Did all Redletter shotguns have FULL under Gauge Number above forearm? I believe range was about 11years. Or, did Winchester stop doing this later on with the Redletters and move the Choke imprint over to the right ? Thanks.

Hedgehopper62, thanks for your input. My 16Gauge Redletter has Full under 16Gauge.It also has small hammer. The older Redletters seem to be marked this way and the slightly newer Redletters seemed to be marked to the far right with CHOKE. I was starting to think some of these guys were replacing barrels on older Redletters with newer Model 37 barrels. It appears that Winchester stopped using Full under Gauge later on which would mean that the barrel may or may not have been changed. I guess it all comes down to honesty,if a fella says the barrel without full on it is original to the Model 37.Does anyone know a foolproof way to tell if a non-low Full marked barrel is original to the Redletter that it is on? I guess we need another Roger Rule to write a book on the Model 37. Thank you 0
