Does anybody have any information on the sword listed below?

For the $600.00 I can buy this for, it may be a good deal, but I have no knowledge of antique swords in general.

  Ames has a good reputation as a sword and tool maker...
  That one looks somewhat beat. Request reverse images and added information on size (looks more like a bayonet) B4 closing.

  That's a US Model 1832 Ames Artillery short sword. Google it for more info but you can find them in better condition at that price.
