I found a good deal on one but has been modified to double action only. Ex police revolver. How hard would it be and expensive to get back to DA-SA

  Just a new sear should do it (possibly a new trigger also)
  
  I awould guess 50-70 dollars at your local smith

  You will probably have to replace the hammer. They most likley put a DA hammer in it, or ground the SA notch off. You need to get inside and see what was done.
