Probably over compressed with the +p loads. Keltec manual says it can handle some but not a steady diet of +p. The guide rod should keep it from becoming a problem.

The P3AT slide springs are overstressed. That is, because of space constraints, they are underdesigned and life is short.
Wolf makes only one set of springs for the P3AT but two for the P32, one of which is stronger than one of the 380 springs.
Because I use the +P Santa Barbara's I use a combination of the strongest springs.

Mine's the same way. And I have never put any +P through it. As stated, the guide rod keeps the springs in line. I don't worry about mine.

I think you have your answer...I put the Wolf spring replacement in.

That is normal for factory springs.

with the replacement wolf spring, will it still be so stiff to work the action?

    No.
Keltec slides are stiff but the women in their service department work them all day.
You want to try the Sub 2000 slide.
