Enfield Question about Stamp on barrel
I have a Enfield #4 Mk2 that has a flaming cannon barrel stamped on the action also stamped US property...an idea who made it?

Savage didn't make #4mk2 rifles. They made #4mk1 and #4mk1* rifles. 0 -
richbug, you are correct...it is not a 2 it is a 1 and there is a * too. 0 -
The No. 4 Mk 1 used a latch-type bolt release at the right rear of the receiver, and the Mk 1* used a notch in the right guide rail at the front of the receiver. The Savages were made as Mk 1*. The Mk 2 was mainly a post-war improvement of the trigger mounting system, and none were of Savage manufacture. 0 -
