Sako Importation
I can't find any good summary information on the evolution of Sako importation into the USA. I know Firearms International started it circa 1950s, then Garcia took over as the importer in the 70s, then along came Stoeger at some point. Can somebody fill in the blanks for me?

If none of our folks can help you, do a GOOGLE search for the "Sako Collectors Club Forum". 0 -

I have looked there. In fact, I am a member of the forum. Unless I am missing it, there is not much there on this subject, at least in any compiled way. Thanks.0 -
You more or less know the complete history already. Garcia took over from Firearms International in 1971 followed by Stoeger and then Beretta bought SAKO in 2000. I don't believe there were many SAKOs imported into the United States prior to the introduction of the medium action L57 in 1957, at which time FI began importing the line. Any importation previous to FI would have been very small scale or private imports. 0
