Iver Johnson .32 Revolver
I found one at a pawn shop for $150, they said they could do it for $100. It's rather pitted and worn, but it seems fully functional. Is it worth it?

Came across this revolver when inventorying my father-in-law's estate. Stamped Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycleworks Fitchburg Mass USA on top of barrel. No serial number I can find. Owl on butt plate faces towards barrel and down. Bottom of butt is stamped with a series of dates ending with "Mar.13.08 AU". Trying to sort out what's of value to the family and what is not. Belonged to my father-in-law's grandfather apparently. 0 -
the main serial number location is on the left side of the grip frame under the grip panel (remove the grips to see). most likely this is a second model safety automatic revolver manufactured before 1904. to be sure of the id i need the serial number and any letter code prefix found on the left side of the grip frame.

Looks like 82055 - don't see any letter prefix unless it would not be near the number

the letter code may or may not be near the serial number but will always be at the the front. based purely on the 5 patent dates markings on the bottom of the butt i would say this is a second model safety automatic revolver manufactured between 1903 and 1905. also based on the fact you didn't mention any serial number on the bottom of the trigger guard i would say it was made in 1903.

Looked again for a letter code under the left butt plate but can't see anything even with magnifying glass. I cleaned the butt a bit and the last dates are Mar 13 88 and Au 25 93/95/96 or 98 - still can't make it out clearly.
It is a .32 with a hammer and holds 5 cartridges.
There is definitely no serial number on the trigger guard.
Oh, I tried to visit your website but get an error message indicating it's not accessible via a www connection whatever that means.
