Daisy-Heddon .22 V/L Rifle s/n 4011426
Came across this rifle when inventorying my father-in-law's estate. Packaged in carrying case along with brass wall mounts and 300 rounds of ammo (well, 290 actually, so apparently it's been shot 10 times). Perfect condition. Brass oval plate on butt that reads "VL Rifle Special Presentation Model -o- DAISY-HEDDON".
Also have another 1,000 rounds of ammo.
Any idea of value?

Cased Rifle is worth $1500.00...The ammo is worth over a Dollar a Round. I saw a VL go for $2500.00 with a Box of Ammo in Oklahoma last Spring........Lucky You...Best........... 0 -
Thanks much for info. Trying to make sure family members know what they have before someone puts it in a yard sale or something. Glad I checked!

true values are different from appraised values, the only way to actually know what any item is worth at any given time is to see what it will sell for at that time. sorry but that's how it is, today I could get $1000 for something that tomorrow you could only get $500 for because of supply and demand in part and other factor so if your looking to appraise an estate you should hire a pro. and remember you or someone is going to pay inheritance tax on the estate items. 0 -
theres no way it is worth what cpt kirk said. maybe around 700-800 usually. blue book(crappy resource usually i know) has them at 525 for %100.
you can buy the ammo on the auction side for 13 dollars for 100 rounds. bricks of 1000 full in good shape around 150-200 usually.0 -
One on the auction side right now $100 no reserve, ammo cost for 100 rounds is $14. 0
