Ruger SR9C magazine problem(sticking trigger)

I just bought the new compact RugerSR9c 9mm. I know they have only been out since mid January.It came with 2 mags, a 10 and 17 round fitted with a spacer to make a full sized grip.

I seem to be having an issue when using the 17 Rd. mag in this weapon. The trigger is not returning to the firing position at times when the 17 Rd, mag is used. Especially during rapid firing.This is not an issue when using the 10 Rd. mag, only the 17.


ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH THE SR9C 17rd, MAG[?][?]

I have already spoken to Ruger and as always they are being very helpfull in trying to resolve this issue.

    Sounds like a magazine problem to me. If they haven't already, suggest to Ruger that you'll return the 17 rounder in return for a new one. If that doesn't do it, then you can talk about returning the pistol. In my experience they will make it right.

    I Bought the SR9C also. The first time i took it out shooting i had the same problem. I am not sure which mag i had in at the time but, I think my problem was I was not letting the trigger come all the way back out before trying to fire the next shot. Maybe I just have fat fingers. I had several people shoot it because i thought there was an issue with the gun and they did not have any problems.

    No I thought about that but on mine the trigger just sticks back and you have to fiddle with it to get it to pop back into the firing position, but only when using the 17 rd mag.
    I called Ruger and asked if they would exchange the 17 for another 10 that would be better suited for CCW,which they shipped out quickly to me.I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but will post results when I do. I have alot of confidence in Ruger arms.

    Hello I don't know how a RUGER is built but if the trigger runs along the side of the magazine "a 1911 has a trigger bow that surrounds the magazine" then a magazine that is Fat or has a rough finish sometimes needs the sides of the magazine to be polished to function smoothly BE AWARE if you try to modify your magazine most likely RUGER will not exchange it for a new one unless you get the OK to polish first.

    I didn't want to attempt to do anything to the mag as this is a brand new item but it was suggested by a Ruger tech I spoke with to try a small amount of filing where the mag release catches the mag in the small rectangular hole on the upper forward part of the mag.
    At the range I tried a couple of things without doing anything
    to modify the mag. I did find that pushing up on the mag when firing seemed to help some what, although not totally as it still was sticking. Im thinking that the problem is indeed simply an bad 17 round mag as I said before it doesn't stick when using the 10 round mag and this weapon is still very new on the market and may have one or two small minor snags to refine.It' so new that Ruger said they still dont have a dedicated mag for the SR9C yet and are using the SR9 mag at this time. I really like this new compact auto and trying not to have to send it back to Ruger if I dont have to.

    i have 2 rugers and the sr9c on lawaway...any problems rest assured the factory will correct it..cant say the same for some of the others

    I agree, I own three other Ruger's and have never been disappointed.
    Thats why I went with Ruger on this compact. Was considering a CZ but Rugers one of the best and it's a USA American made, born in Arizona Company I am very satisfied with.They will always take care of their customers.
