Rock Island 1911 45 Cal
Just a quick question on Rock Island 1911 45 cal. I'm seeing one on Gunbroker for around $400, many of the 1911's I'm seeing are in the $800++range, so what's the deal? Is the quality good? Do you know of any issues? Why is it a good or bad deal? Opinions also welcome.

Never had an issue with mine. The fit and finish aren't as good as the more expensive ones but they shoot just fine for what they are- reliable but not as accurate as a Kimber or something. 0 -
both prices reflect what most people are willing to pay for what they get IMHO quality control is spotty at best and resale value will go down by larger % then a well made pistol. example $800 new $700 used vs $400.00 new $300.00 used. both used the same condition. 0 -
I had one. Its performance was exceptional. It was made just like a springfield. I was able to customize it with ss parts relative easily. They are made by armscorp out of the philipines now. That is one reason they are cheap. 0 -

I have one and I love it. No problems yet.As far as accuracy, how accurate does a pistol have be when shooting at less than 20 yards most of the time? i carry mine every day. 0 -
No issues wiht mine in about 2000 rounds... GRD has several, with many more rounds thru them, no issues. Great guns at a great price.
BTW - the Tactical model has a lot of improvements over the standard/GI style for not much more money ...0 -

I have seen many used ones in Pawn/gun shops. So far I haven't seen ANY priced below retail for a new one. In fact most are priced ABOVE. One has to assume that they believe they can get that price. 0 -
