Erma Waffenfabrik Erfurt 22 Cal Model ?

I have an Erma Waffenfabrik Erfurt(Left Hand side of Slide Forward), Cal. 22 Long Rifle(Left Hand side of Barrel) 8" Barrel. Firearm in very much disaray and Frame no longer useable, Made In Germany, Initials D.R.G.M.(Left Hand rear of Slide) and can find no Info on it as far as model or schematic and hopeing someone can give me some help with either. Would appreciate any help I can get. Not quite sure how to add photo, I did get a short discription on adding photo but that went over my head so no photo at this time

    They made a .22 pistol with a die cast Zinc, ( pot metal ) frame, for a short time prior to World War II, It was known as the Erma Target Pistol. How they figured that a target pistol was viable with a Zinc die cast frame, is beyond me. Appears this is what you have. Their very uncommon and replacement parts are nonexistent.

    Quite honestly it would be easier to find replacement parts for a surplus Zeppelin then hunt up parts for your ERMA. rufe-snow is our European handgun expert so he may have encountered a working pistol but I have ever seen a fully functional example. I have been told that ERMA actually pioneered the use of zinc in pistol production, which of course has been heavily utilized in such firearms as the Raven, and that your pistol was developed as a means of providing the German military with a very inexpensive .22 target pistol, although I've never seen one with German military acceptance stamps of any kind. The letters DRGM are simply a German marking to indicate a sort of patent registration and have no meaning beyond that.

    To post photos you need to have them on a remote server like Photobucket and then link them over to us. if you can manage I am sure our members would like to see a few photos of your pistol as it is very uncommon.

    Didn't really plan on restoring this item, mainly wanted to find out what we had here and possible parts list. This is one of those things that will probably be listed on GunBroker but wanted some info first for my satisfaction and for help in listing discription. The response so far pretty well discribe the firearm. Why they would do such a pro job on pretty much every thing except the frame gets me. My thanks to those that responded.

    I'm quite surprised and excited that I found someone else with this firearm. I inherited this Erma from my wife's father. He was secret service and served in North Africa in WWII. Comparing the illustration, you can see where the frame is broken or missing under the front part of the slide. Do you have this part? It still shoots though but misfires occasionally.

    Thanks for the responce to this topic. In the photos I posted link too and had some help adding one parts photo to this topic., I've shown all I have of this firearm. In the near future I will be listing them on GunBroker. This one was given to me as you see it, in parts. Sounds like parts are hard to find and so few of these around I presume hard to find that one person in need of the parts. So' what you see is what I have and doesn't appear it would improve your situation. Any other ?'s you have regarding this item I'll try to respond or any info you have to offer would be much appreciated.
