I have a model 42 my dad got my sister when she was small, she hasn't shot more than a box of shell through it, shot one squirrell started crying and dad never took her hunting again. I was wondeirng if you could give me a manufacture date, as my mom who is 88 thinks it was bought about 10 years earlier than me. the serial #139132, everyone who sees it says it has been reblued I know it hasn't been touched unless it is older than I thought,then it may have been reblued before dad got it for her. thanks in advance, and no I can't post pictures, don't have a digital camera.

    I do not have any of the Polishing Room Serialization records (yet) for the Model 42. The best I can do is an estimate of sometime in the late 1950s. I hope to have the records after I return from my next Cody research trip (June).

    From the information that I found it looks like either 1958 or 1959.

    snickers that was the date I came up with on the internet, 1959, only thing is my mother says dad got it for my sister before my brother was born and they were living in a certain address which would put it before 1954. My mother remembers my sister saying my brother may get her bed, but he wasn't getting her shotgun.[;)] he was born in 1954. so at this point all I can go on is my mothers 88 year old memory[;)]
