1912 Steyr-Hahn
I recently picked up one of the above pistols on "the other site." I haven't received the pistol yet, but the sender checked and said the bbl, (which has at least one sheared lug) would chamber a 9 M/M Parabellum cartridge correctly. So, evidently, the pistol was one of those changed to fire the Luger cartridge. Can't see any "08" stamped on the slide or any Third Reich proof marks from the pictures. I've got an original bbl on the way, so would like to know how many parts besides the bbl would have been changed during the conversion. Such as the extractor or bolt. Thanks in advance for any answers. (And of course, I don't intend to stick a cartridge in the chamber and see what happens...)

From my experience with the 9mm Steyr and Luger cartridges there is very little difference between rim and head diameters. Case length/overall length is where the major difference occures. Although I have never tried it with the Steyr Hahn's I owned in the past, I believe one chambered for the 9mm Steyr cartridge wouldn't have had either the breech face or extractor replaced to function with the 9mm Luger cartridge. At the most the extractor would have been tweaked slightly. 0 -
Isn't the pressure for a 9mm Luger higher than the 9mm Steyr? 0
