Can someone tell me the date of man. on this firearm ?

1957, but I'm not sure what the "-2" suffix means. 0 -
Thanks for looking it up for me . 0 -
The -2 suffex may mean that was a 2nd. barrel ? 0 -
Back before Ithaca started stamping the abbreviations for the chokes on the barrel, such as " FULL ", " MOD " or " IC " they used digits. I think 2 is for Mod. choke, but not positive. 0 -
I agree on 1957 and the "2" is definitely for modified choke. Ithaca number codes for chokes was: 0=cyl., 1=i.cyl., 2=mod., 3=i.mod. (seldom used), 4=full, and S=skeet. This is per the Ithaca 37 book by Walter Claude Snyder. 0 -
12 gauge? or 16? 0 -
Thanks again for all the info fella's .
It is a 12ga.
Any thoughts on what one in unfired condition is worth ?
I have the gun and the box of Peters Victory shells the fella got when he bought the gun , the box and shells are also in mint condition . Only downfall is , no box for the gun . I guess they didn't save boxes back in the day .0 -
Although the 28" MOD barrel is the most common type for these shotguns, the fact that the gun is that old and unfired should draw some good bids. Based on what I have seen on here, that Ithaca could go for around $ 600-$700 to the right person. Def. don;t let it go for under $ 450 for any reason. I wish I had it. 0 -
Solid or vent rib or no rib?
Checkered or plain?
What sub-model S, T, R?
That's what will make the value!
Plain gun maybe $500-600.0
